"Early" and "Late" Valve Guides in E21s

When did BMW switch from "early" to "late" style valve guides in the M10? My car was made in 06/1979. I'm looking under the valve cover but I can't really tell. I may need to replace the valve seals and want to order the right ones.

From 9/ !978 Valve Seals are D = 10.8 mm, BMW # 11349059169 . Get Viton ones--look on ebay, BMW E21's

Here is a set, there is also Fel Pro ones for less. I have both sets.
