Hi:
Can you disable the ECU not to throw codes if you block (or remove) the secondary air pump and related parts? If yes, is there any of the scanners or programmers that can do that or I have to take it to BMW shop?
Thanks

Secondary air faults are registered thru the pre cat oxygen sensors on cold start the engine runs a rich mixture as this leaves the engine ambient air is pumped in to dilute it before it hits the oxygen sensors, when secondary air does not work for some reason the sensors pick up the rich mixture and set faults, the system is on for maybe 4 mins on the first start of the day, so is you system setting faults for secondary air
Why would you want to do this? Don't you have enough smog now?

Search for DUDMD here on on FaceBook. Many others have said he offers great tunes for the M62 and M62TU. I think an SAP delete is one of the options.
SAP (secondary air pump), not the secondary water pump.
My secondary air pump has not been working for few years now, and once in a while in throws a code. I am chasing a vacuum leak and I am just trying to simplify the engine bay and get rid of possibilities.
I have been passing smog in WA with no issues. having said that, starting this year there is no more smog test in WA

The short answer is yes it's possible to code out SAP. If you're tech-savvy all the information you need to code it out is out there, if not then I suggest you pay someone to do it.
