Hi,
My dealer just replaced all four brake pads and resurfaced the rotors. Charging $750 at the rate of $150/hr. Is it normal for this job to take 5hrs?
Thanks,
Ash.
Either this is a gag or you must be bangin' the guy's wife.
$750? I hope you got a kiss first.

Lol didn't get none of that smh. Looked suspicious. What's the best way to dispute with the dealer without coming off too aggressive/corny?

It's not 5 hrs labor there are parts in there ya know?!
Ask for a labor breakdown. I'll bet the brake pads and rotor resurface is ~2 hrs and the flush is ~1 hr. Shop rates are likely ~120 ish an hour, so $750 is about right for a ~3-4 hr job with consumables and parts. At an independent, this would probably be more like $500-600.

I replaced all 4 rotors because factory ones warped. first set replaced under warranty. second set i did my self.
50 each for a rotor from advance auto, pads are only 50 a set, and only takes about 20 min a side. Very easy job to do your self
Sorry, but why would you go to the dealer for maintenance work? A) they're labor rate is higher than ind. shops, and B) they ALWAYS mark up prices on genuine BMW parts above list price by 25% - 30% on avg. There is no way the charge includes brake flush - that's a $600 charge by itself (what they quoted me the one time they were trying to cross sell services).
