Hood release inop

Is there a way to pop the hood if the release is inoperable? Nothing happens when I pull it.

There is an emergency hood release mechanism behind the driver side grille. Google e30 emergency hood release for pics and videos.

Thanks! Thankfully, the cable appears to be fine. The latch was just a little sticky.
