    set top speed limit

    Is there a way to set a top speed to say 80 on my 2011 328i? Like a governor, 80 is THE top speed. I am thinking of giving it to my teenager as a first car.

    You can take out 3 spark plugs, that will limit the top speed.

    There are no settings in the computer that you can access, but the top speed is limited, such as it is, by firmware. The car has a speed limit that will make your kid crazy with chimes and buzzers, but it is easy to turn this off.
