    2008 135i ABS / braking issue

I have a 2008 135i with 119k on it. Brake pedal feels hard and pulls hard left when braking. throws codes 5d9d front left axle leakage or air/ 5da7 brake system leakage or air when pressing hard on the brake pedal. thought it was a vacuum issue, no problems found on the vacuum pump side of things. Found the front passenger side caliper isn't applying when pressing the brakes so i cracked the bleeder screw to find no brake fluid. Followed the brake line a little further back to an intermediate connection, cracked that line to find no brake fluid coming out of there. Followed the line all the way back to the DSC pump and had no brake fluid coming out of the line at the pump. There are no leaks of brake fluid anywhere. In my 2 years and some change of owning this car never did i touch the brake fluid system until i had this issue arise and cracked open the lines i stated earlier to check for brake fluid. I assume its the DSC pump is my problem but i wanted to get someone else's opinion if im missing something and if it does end up being this DSC pump, do i have to replace the module as well or can i calibrate / code a different pump to my ABS module? Thanks in advance

I would see about pulling codes first before you condemn the DSC/ABS module.

Next step would be to have a buddy apply pressure to the brake pedal while you crack the bleeder, if then no fluid comes out, I would go up further and continue to crack/open the lines. I have a feeling that your right front caliper is bad/locked.

I wonder if brake fluid will come out of any of the other lines at the pump

I listed codes in original post. 5da7 and 5d9d. Did exactly that with a buddy pressing on the brake pedal while trying to bleed the front right caliper. Like i stated no fluid came out and thats when i followed the line all the way back to an intermediate connection and finally to the dsc pump where no fluid came out of the line at all for the front right caliper. Crackes every other line on the dsc pump to check for fluid and every other port on the pump had fluid come out. No fluid came out of the port on the pump for the front right caliper.

Then I don't think it would be the module, you are looking at a failed pump. You can try to pull the module off as it controls the pump by pushing each of the pulses to see if that one is stuck.

Johnk16, I know this is an old thread, but did you manage to fix the problem? I have a E92 that just popped up the same errors. Thanks!
