So, I have an automatic 2004 325i and I want to swap out my mechanical fan for an electric one. Will I need to do anything with my water pump? The fan bolts to the case of the water pump (I believe). Any other good tips you can add would be great as well!

I’ve ran my 325 and now 330 zhp without mechanical fan for, years. Front electric fan never comes on, no issues.
our temps top out at about32C and no city traffic driving for me. Makes maintenance far easier too!
just sold 325 with nearly 200,000 miles on it. Great car!
The mechanical fan clutch screws onto the water pump shaft. It’s a left hand thread!!! So, to remove it you’ll need to rotate it counterclockwise.
The e46 is the simplest car to perform an electric fan upgrade. Remove mechanical fan, remove aux fan, install e46 manual car - electric fan in place of mechanical fan - it includes shroud and plugs into Aux fan for control and electrical supply.
I have done this on at least 5 e46's, great mod
