    ABS module rebuild options

Ahoy. I am looking to get my ABS module rebuilt and was wondering who/where is the recommended place to send it to?
Ive seen ample recommendations for module masters . currently ~$300
And these guys on ebay for $140: http://www.ebaystores.com/autoecu1

Any other suggestions? Has anyone used the ebay place? Worth another $160 for MM?

    Thanks
edit: car in question 2001 e38 740iL with module 34522285051

Keep in mind, there's also a possibility that it can not be rebuilt. you may send it there just for them to tell you it can not be rebuilt.

Thanks for the recommendation. I just sent them my module. Around $200 with round trip shipping/tax/etc.

Hoping that is not the case. The failure has been gradual, and worked fine in cold ambient temps until the engine bay warmed up. I dont know if that is an indication of a "mild" failure. Will find out in a few days / a week or so I guess.

    Thanks guys.

They did send me an email with a report of their findings and which faults they couldn't replicate (I guess they use some kind of tester to replicate the car?).
Here is what they sent me:

Your ABS module has been repaired and will be in the mail today.
We retrieved the trouble codes from the memory of the module before the repairs and one of the trouble codes was not recreated during testing.
This code could be previously stored in the memory or
the code is current and the reason for this particular code is not the fault of the ABS module (outside it).

    Return Pump

If this code shows up after installation - the problems will need to be troubleshooted properly on the vehicle.
We did test drive your module after repairs - and there were no codes on our end.

I just sent my X5 ABS Module to the same company! They are highly recommended! I used to ways recommend BBA Reman but their price has jumped from $95 to $150...

Good news! Module was repairable and sent back to me. Total turn around time just over a week. All warnings gone, everything working. And ASC/DSC is actually working for the first time since I had the car! It never bothered me enough to dig in previously ( was first thing I turned off after starting it in the e39 by habit )
