ZCS coding for RLS retrofit

Hi all,

I just completed a RLS (rain/light sensor) retrofit on my E38 which was never equipped with either a rain sensor or auto headlights. The LCM was also replaced with a LCM IV and coded to the car. The auto headlights part works perfectly. My question, though, is how do I add the rain sensing wipers option to the GM3? Looking online, it appears I might have to modify the ZCS and factory options list. I've attempted to do so on my NCS Expert computer, however I haven't been successful. If there are any ZCS experts here who can provide input, I'd be very thankful!

I was able to find the option (S521) in the E38ZST.000 file and added the values in the SA number field (does 8+2 = 0? this may be my problem), but I've never been able to get the coding completed. It always errors out with a "faulty coding key" when trying to finish. If I change no numbers (just go through the ZCS coding process and provide the already installed numbers), coding works fine. Attached are pictures of my current attempts.

Any help would be much appreciated!

not informed on it but is that hexadecimal? as in A = 10 or 1010 in binary ?

new to me, I never could get the programs for the computer hookup to do much on the 1997 740iL.....

Got the ZCS coded today. Turns out you have to remove the last digit from each line when calculating new checksums, and 8+2=A as the ZCS is in hexadecimal. Now to find where in the GM to enable the rain sensor...
