Hi all,

I just purchased a 2001 e39 M5 that’s in fairly decent shape but has some things to address. One of these items is the missing undershield (engine and transmission so front). I’ve seen online that these covers can go from $400 to $600 depending on the metal used.

i found a plastic cover for $100 (link below) and am wondering if people have an opinion on if the plastic will be fine or if it is worth it to spring for the metal undershield. I’ve also seen people comment that it’s fine to not replace that part but I would prefer to have my undercarriage covered!
