KC/Hyde Motor Works M122H SC Kit Build

After having done nearly everything you can do on the e36 platform(s54 swap, Rms stage 2 plus, turbo) I’ve always loved the idea of a positive displacement blower setup like the ES TS/AA TS kits, but those kits are out of production.

After searching around missing the chance on a few used ones that pop up for sale a kit caught my eye from Hyde Motor Works.

The kit uses a m122h from the ford GT500 that is a 1.9 liter Eaton blower. https://hydemotorworks.com/shop/prod...rcharger-kits/

After going back speaking with Hyde, and Keith I purchased very low mileage blower(1k miles)from a local. Then set to purchasing the kit from Hyde, and having Keith do the install since he’s not far from NY.

Once my order was in it was time to get some injectors, and a base tune lined up with 60lbs injectors. I decided to go with Jordan from RK tunes a stones throw away from me.

Cars current mods are euro ss rep headers with euro ss resonated midpipes, and euro ss race muffler. Decently free flowing exhaust.

Fast forward to this weekend I packed the car up with tons of goodies for the install, and headed to Keith over in South NJ.

Once I got there Keith showed me some of the hardware pics below.

Once we got that sorted I got a ride in Keith’s steed pushing 16psi in his 325 with m54 bottom end. Car made great power, and pulled hard in every gear. Instant boost with no lag.

I was dropped off at the local rental car place for my trip to then drive a 4 banger rental.

Keith got to work on pulling the trans for clutch/flywheel upgrade, and shorter shifter install.

    That wasn’t without some drama.

Then it was time to tackle the area where the blower will live.

More updates to come soon. Happy boosting.

Thanks Mike. If you are around when I head down to pick it up swing by on my way back up to NY. Hopefully Fat Cats opens up soon it would be great to catch up.

How did i miss this! Thanks for the invite...looking good

If your M3 doesn’t have 3 pedals and 2 doors, I would really consider contacting BMW to confirm the authenticity of your incorrectly badged mid-sized family sedan.

been considering this since the m122h thread in the e36 forum. my biggest question is what they are considering a "built" motor to run this thing. a mls/cutring is alot different then a pile of internal bits. are you running this on a stock s52? what kinda clutch setup?

Looks good. I’ve been thinking about doing an Eaton TVS with the turbo blowing into it.

I’ll be running 9psi on stock head gasket for now. Then I’ll move onto a cutring head gasket with a set of schricks or single schrick exhaust cams.

Shhhh this has popped into mind as well. I think someone back in the day did do that on a e36 I think 8-10 years ago.

The kit supports it, rather go with a 3L Supercharger though really, the kit supports that do, few modifications that need doing.

And that turbo+SC thing has been done as well.

Yep that exactly what I have been thinking. The response would be awesome with an auto trans and you could just open the bypass with the ECU and let the turbo do its thing.

Get in touch with us when you are ready and have a TVS2300 (2013 - 2018/2019 IIRC) or 2600(latest mustang).
We will work something tailored specially for you

Hi 5 GG! This looks like it will be a ton of fun. I'm going to be really pissed if you don't stop at my house on your way back to NY from picking this thing up. You owe me a ride!

I’ll hit you up for sure.

Kit is installed, and ready for me to pick up. Not the easiest to do with the CCP virus still in full swing.

Hi 5 right back at ya.

KC/Hyde Motor Works M122H SC Kit Build

Picked up the car from Keith today with a little help from a friend (Switlikebob) . Bob picked me up with his lightly modded M2.

A few small hiccups on the way home. Tune wasn’t happy in stop n go traffic(stalls often when coming to a stop/sitting at a light). Hopefully that can be solved with raising the idle .

Been trying to get a date from RK tunes to drop off the car. Hopefully I’ll have a time frame tomorrow.

I am looking forward to seeing what one of these can do with a tune. Post the results when you get them. I don’t think Tanks95 ever made it to 500 rwhp.
