Hood won't open

Can someone help me in how to get hood open on 05 745LI, I pull inside hood release but doesn't open. What are my options?

Busting out the grills and pulling on the cables the cable is two pieces, from the handle to the drivers side inner fender well then the second cable goes fro that junction block to both hood latches, word to the wise if the handle is hard to pull lube the latches so this won't happen

I bet you can open it without having to go that far. Take off the pull handle, and the trim panel covering it. Take off the trunk release unit thing, and disconnect the cable from it. Using a pair of pliers, pull the cable, holding the sheath (black outer part). The hood should open. Then replace this cable unit. The black outer part gets messed up, and when you pull the release handle, it pulls the outer part with the cable, and won't actuate the release levers.

+1, this is exactly how I just opened mine, it works. I had to hold the sheath back with a second pair of pliers.
