E28 trans compatibility

What's going on guys probably my first time posted anything here I have a 1987 BMW 535is it's an automatic has about 200 I don't know 260,000 miles on it. I've had it for about 2 years now and been doing me really good up until my transmission start bucking and slipping I ran across a person that selling a 533 I think it's a1986 5spd. First question is what's the compatibility between those two vehicles far as transmission and how hard on a scale of 1 to 10 is the job of swapping out Transmissions and lastly is it even worth it appreciate any input an Insight thanks a lot guys

The tranny will work, but you will need to add the hanger that was welded in the tunnel for the shifter to hang on. I tend to either cut it out from above with an angle grinder or get underneath and use a big hammer and a good chisel. So it will all work. Depending on the year of the 533i it might have a lighter fly wheel so that is good.
