    Another About to Buy Post

Hi all, I am missing track days and autocross so would like to buy a fun and upgradable car. I modded the heck out of a subaru sti once upon a time, and made it my little awd beast, but sold it when my kiddo was born 4 years ago. I like the twin turbo N54, so I chose the 135i, but my wife didn't like the look. She wants a fancy pants car she can drive from time to time. The Z4 with M package seems like the logical car that would check all the boxes.

I am looking at purchasing a 2014 Z4 35i w/ M package, manual transmission. Is this a decent choice given what I want to accomplish? Any things I should be concerned with? Since my wife will drive it from time to time, I'd like to mod it with pump gas, not E85. Are there any decent bolt on performance packages for this car? Probably will shoot for 500 hp. Pipe dream?

Well, no responses, so I guess I'll update. Are there not many tuners on this site? Anyhow, it seems that running 500 BHP on pump gas is a pipe dream with the current turbos. I like wrenching, but the last twin turbo R&R I did took over 12 hours. Think I'll pass for now.

Going to slap in the following mods:

Air Box: Magnum FORCE Stage-2 PRO 5R Intake System N54
Downpipe: AR Design catted N54 Downpipes
FMIC: Wagner Tuning BMW E Chassis Z4 Intercoolers
Charge Pipe: Evolution Racewerks Z4 N54 (3.0TT) Diverter Valve Charge Pipe (went ahead and had them weld on a meth bung, but doubt I'll use it. Too scared of a pump failing)

Keeping my stock 19" wheels, but swapping out the run flats with:
    michelin pilot sport 4s
    245/35/19 front and 275/30/19 rear

Once I finish the breathability and heat soak mods above, I'll slap in a Cobb v3 and do a stage 2 flash. I'd guess I'll start conservative around 380 bhp. Oh, and here's a picture of my dog getting ready to leave for the office.bmwdoggo.jpg

I'm looking to purchase one for the same reasons. My E32 still has all my attention but wouldn't mind something I can beat up.
Update what youve done and how it's been if you don't mind. interested

Starting to think along the same lines. Will be hard to find the right car. But would be fun to play around with the N54.
