    17" v 18" 95 M3

Trying to decide between 17" and 18" rims (and tires!) for my next set on a 95 M3 5spd. I've been running the stock 17" rims for ever and want to update the looks of the car.
It's a fun street car, no DEs or Racing or Auto Cross. But DO take some road trips and local drives. aka, road comfort is still important (poly bushings installed now and Bilstien/Sachs combo suspension)

Wondering what the forum thinks between those two?
Also, a lightweight wheel IS important to me, so maybe the 17s will fit that bill better?

I tried some 18" e46 Take offs, at 255/40 and 225/45 and the rears were WAY TOO WIDE, the fronts barely, and I mean Barely fit.
Thanks for this thought pbonsalb, makes sense: The 255/40/18 on E46M3 wheels did not fit it part due to the wheel offset that pushed the wheels towards the fenders

Would like to stay with a squared neutral set up.

    Thoughts anyone!:

I use 17s. Try Apex ARC8. I have 3 sets, a couple of them are about 10 years old. Bimmerworld may also sell a reasonably priced lightweight flow formed wheel. I had a set of Kosei K1 about 15 years ago that were light and that I liked.

The 255/40/18 on E46M3 wheels did not fit it part due to the wheel offset that pushed the wheels towards the fenders.
