I have an earlier post about head emulator that can be ignored, I see in the many years since I last did this that is no longer the way.
I need to get DIS V44 connected to code a mk IV nav system. I have the v44 working and I have IFH service (though it just runs in the background, I thought there should be some kind of window for it?) and I have done everything in the David MC Read This First PDF, but I still don't have DIS recognizing the car through my USB-OBD connector (which is a connector that works fine for me on a separate machine that has a purchased pre-setup V57). What's the next step? No Free Diagnostic Heads show in the connection setup menu, which I'm assuming is the root of my problem.
EDIT: Going the diagnostic head emulator route because that has worked for me in v57, but here's where I'm getting stuck: when I go to add in the IP address for diaghead in the unix root, whether I do init 0 or init 6 after it shuts down from that my DIS won't boot anymore, I can a restart loop with the server X message.

Same problem, can't reboot DIS after updating diaghead ip's in unix.
Any updates?
While I understand some like DIS especially for diagnostic purposes for the test plans (although on some of these ISTA works perfectly well); for coding, why not simply use NCS Expert and call it a day?
