Turns out the e38 guys have a thread named this over there, and I came across an interesting listing in Vancouver that I am trying to use my guess-timation skills to figure out what kind of Frankenstien creation this is.

I'm thinking it's a JDM left hand drive spec (that explains low Kms and interior), with 2000 M5 taillights, M-tech rear bumper, and steering wheel from a Z3 or Z3M?

If I was in the area, and I had the space, I'd buy it just for the chrome (maybe?) M pars and interior trim set

The rest is sketchy but still worth money.

Nice find Texas319. I’m in Houston and have been using OfferUp for awhile now. Never seen that one. Maybe you picked it up immediately? I’ve looking for some style 37s for awhile now too so I’m pretty jealous of your find. Congrats!

bro they are out there I comb those apps every day just to see what is out there. He couldn’t get the passenger door open so it went from 1700 to 650 after a few months of “I will pick it up for $xxx today”. I saw the rims and figured push come to shove I part out what I can starting with the wheels and make my money back.

yea it’s something nasty. I soaked it in bleach and everything it got a little better but will be replacing. That and a few others after the interior change.

I had been looking for something to work on in my spare time to be a daily driver parting with my e60 a few years ago. Timing was perfect while on lock down. Fixing the aux fan issue, stripping the interior down, diagnosing some simple issues had made it worthy the money.

all of those apps are doing what Craigslist did to classified ads about 10 years ago.

I like them because you can reach out to people instantly and negotiate as well with local folks. OfferUp allows you to see people willing to ship if not in your area.

Yeah, its a bit wierd but (I'm in Canada, so maybe that makes a difference), 5mile doesn't show up on the playstore, no real version of Offerup exists either, and I downloaded Letgo, but where I am now (Halifax) only one listing comes up for BMW..


Back to Craigslist, Kijiji and Facebook Marketplace I go.
