fuel pump issue

My original fuel pump lasted 200K miles. It was replaced a year and a half ago and after only 21k miles since then, I am having to replace it again. This does not make sense. Any insight? Thanks.

The only fuel pump you want to buy is a pump made by Siemens/VDO. Period. Buy it at FCPEuro for its lifetime warranty. Change the fuel filter, too. It needs to be made by either Mahle or Keyser. The filter contains the fuel pressure regulator.

The fuel pump in my 04 330 died at 120,000. I replac ed it with a cheap eBay pump that lasted less than a year. Take that for what it's worth.
