    Timing chain guides maybe. Definately sounds strange but to me it doesn't sound like a water pump starting to fail.

    take off the belt and if the sound goes away its probably the waterpump or powersteering pump

    That's the plan, except I also just did the power steering and alternator before that. Feh.

    Hard to believe that ALL the noise(s) were a bad water pump. No loose shafts anywhere. Feh.

    I'd say the belt, tensioner or pulley...Check them and tighten. Replace if damaged.

    I replaced the belt, tensioner and pulleys already. Belt shows no cracking and pulleys all turn smooth.
