Is this battery AGM or “regular”

As the title states I’m trying to establish if this battery is AGM or a “regular” one. It’s on my 2000 Z3 which was a Japanese market Z3. Google search on the part number only comes up with Japanese text web pages.

My battery seems to have the same specs as OEM part number 61218381730 which is non AGM.

I just want to know what type as I got a CTEK battery maintainer that has the AGM charging option on it.

    Thanks

    Tim

That's a regular battery, flooded wet cell, NOT AGM.

The AGM equivalent is 90600309269. These are Japanese BMW part numbers, I don't think they work in the US, presumably because batteries are not shipped from the same source to locations all around the world.

It does not matter. Use the Cold Weather setting for Optima and Odyssey AGMs. Use the Normal setting for all other batteries including AGM. Most all the batteries for the Z3 are AGM. I have used my CTEK on Normal for four winters on my Z3's Bosch AGM H6. From the CTEK manual:

    Normal battery program
14.4V/4.3A. Use for WET batteries, Ca/Ca, MF, GEL batteries
    and many AGM batteries.
    41ºF–122ºF
    (+5°C–+50°C)
    14–160Ah
    Cold weather program
14.7V/4.3A . Use for charging at low temperatures and for
power AGM batteries like Optima and Odyssey.

Thanks, interestingly the Japanese part number has been stickered over the NA part number of 61218381730 so it is likely the same battery anyway just with a different part number
