    Turbo s52

New to the forums. Have an s52 engine and plan to turbo it. Goal is 600-650hp. Planning on using a 6266 as my turbo but wanted to build the bottom end first. I’ve heard a JE/eagle setup was the best. Can anyone tell me what specific piston set is the best, I am honestly just confused with all the options. If anyone can steer me in The right direction I’ll appreciate it.

The first thing to consider is what fuel type you will be using. Are you going to be dedicated pump gas if so, what octane? Do you have access to pump E85 nearby?

I don’t know that JE/Eagle is any better than Wiseco/Eagle or any better than Mahle/K1. I looked at prices and JE/K1 were about the cheapest at that time. If you are using an engine builder, I would ask the builder what he likes working with because you may get a better result than if you bring in a box of parts that your friends on the Internet recommended.

It’s great that the new people start at 600 rwhp now. When I joined the forum, 400 rwhp was still a lot of power.

K1, Molnar, and eagle rods are all fine, as are pistons From wiseco, CP, JE, Diamond, Wossner, and Ross. Honestly you really can't go wrong so just pick one and call them and tell them what you want.

I have access to E85 but don’t want to run it 24/7. I should be running 93 most of the time.

hahaha I guess that’s the new normal lol

Biggest problem I was having was finding the right pistons that would fit the cylinder. Blocks at a machine shop right now.

I see what your saying. If I was already going to build the block why cheap out? And I’m building this by self with my cousin in our garage for a summer project.

You just have to call whatever piston manufacturer you like and tell them what you want and they will make it.

Or order off the shelf and the machine shop will bore the block to fit. I ordered the 297170 from a JE reseller.

If your bores are oval you would need the next over bore size. If you are running E85 full time you might want 11:1 CR instead of 9.0.

I assume Wiseco and Mahle have some standard specs as well.
