    Stiffer springs , same height

Suppose I wanted stiffer springs on my 98 Z3M , like H&R, but didn't want to lower the car very much. Now that I'm putting a hardtop on, I'm more motivated to stiffen the springs. I'm guessing the H&Rs with thick spring pads is the answer. (2) 10 mm pads would take away most of the lowering effect of the springs. Do they make thicker pads for the front? I haven't found any. ..... Any other suggestions?

have you looked at H&R OE SPORT springs vs lowering springs ?

I'm not sure of the front pad, I'll check into it.

It appears as though - The Canadian 1996+M3 shares an Upper Spring Pad (diameter) with the Euro M3 and US 1996+M3. Canada got virtually the same M3 as the US 1996+M3. The 1996+M3 shares the same Upper Spring Plate 31332227903 with the Z3M...or M Z3.
Canadian cars SPRING PAD UPR 9MM 31332227901

As a side bar - The US 1996+M3 has a different smaller upper spring diameter than the US 1995M3, which shares a larger upper spring diameter with all the other E36 models. (Don’t know about the Z3.) I don’t believe the p/n above fits springs for 318/323/328 or the 1995M3, only the (US) 1996+M3 (and I assume the M Z3.)

Looks like H&R does not offer OE Sports for the Z3.

I can only find HR #29520 . Some sites call them Sport Springs, or Sport Spring Set, or Sport Lowering Springs, but it's always the same part number.

Unfortunately, it looks like no OE Type available per H&R website.

I dont think youll need to alter the front. When BMW equipped cars with the hardtop package, they adjusted the rear suspension but not the front.
