1998 BMW ///M3 - Estoril Blue W/ Hardtop - $12500

This is a rare Estoril Blue ///M3 Convertible with leather Dove Grey Interior. It is in really great condition and drives great. I have been restoring it and adding some modifications to it.

After searching a year, I was very fortunate to come across a set of Electric / Heated Dove Grey Vader seats which I installed in the car. They are in great condition without any tears or rips. The car also comes with a BMW OEM Wind Deflector and BMW OEM Hard Top with the Cradle / Stand. The Hard Top was a $4000 option.

I also have a rare BMW M3 Front Splitter which has not been installed on the car yet - I will include it with the sale. The car also has the BMW M3 Light Weight wheels (Staggered). Being a 1998 model, it also has the added advantage of BMW's Safety Roll Bars behind the rear head rests that will pop out in case of a roll over. Earlier convertibles did not have this feature.

The car's body is very nice original paint. It has one or two light scratches on the rear of the driver's side (probably not visible in the pictures, but will mention it anyway).

It has an Aftermarket stereo system (Pioneer) installed that sounds great. The car came with a sub-woofer which was unfortunately blown, so I removed it. It still have the amp in the trunk though.

The convertible top was replaced a couple of years ago as the original owner literally never put the top up during his ownership.

The car has a Clean CarFax report with some service history listed as well as a Clean California title. The car practically just sits and hasn't been driven much at all in the last couple of years. The car will be smogged and registration brought up to date for the Buyer .

It is a very clean example of the classic E36 M3 and is a great summer car with the top down - even at night as you can just turn on the heated seats. Brakes and tires only have about 3000 miles on them and tires have plenty of thread left on them.


The car needs a couple of little things that I have been fixing as part of the project:

I think the car needs a new Driver's Door lock actuator - it works intermittently.

Recently for no other reason than it's a BMW of course, the front seat backs stopped reclining. This is a known issue with these seats and needs the cogs replaced in the motor. I might be able to get these done before the car is sold.

The Headliner in the hard top should be replaced as it is old and getting loose.

- Spark Plugs (NGK 3199)
- Oil Change (Liqui Moly 5W40 Full Synthetic)
- Liqui Moly Ceratec Anti Friction additive
- Brand New Tires, all Four (Hankook VR2)
- Brand New Brakes All Round (MEYLE Platinum Premium Brakes + New Pads and Sensors)
- Brand New Pioneer Head Unit with Bluetooth, USB, CD, etc.
- Brand New DINAN Koni Adjustable Shocks
- Brand New MEYLE HD Strut Mounts
- Brand New DINAN Front Strut Bar
- Missing Right Side Fog light


I also very recently acquired a brand new DINAN Cold Air Intake kit for the car. I haven't installed it yet, I will update this ad if I install it before the car is sold. The kit will come with the car either installed or in the box.


It is getting more difficult to find these cars in this condition these days, and this is a rare to find colour being an Estoril Blue model.

I took the car on a 2000 mile trip from SF to Phoenix, Temecula, San Diego and back - it drove excellently, and it was quite impressive carving through the Pacific Coast Highway on the way home. It is a great car.
