I have been polishing cars for 15 years now profesinaly and at home recently with only a rotary dewalt buffer, works amazing with 3m products . Recently I encountered quite a few cars with delicate paint , mostly single stage paint, and found the rotary is just too harsh on it. I am looking at trying the Flex 3401 machine , was wondering what you guys use as far as pads and chemicals for the orbital buffers. I only know the 3m stuff and I know it was specificaly made for the rotary buffers not sure if I could use them on an orbital. Greatly appreciate any input.

Most (not all!) pad manufacturers adhere to color coding such as this
