    Fair Offer Range?

    Hey Guys,

I hate asking such questions, but I am not well versed on the current market prices for a nice example. I’m considering an ‘09 silver coupe w/ 71k miles (6 spd). A 3-owner well maintained car with no accident history and completely stock. Every option in addition to the carbon roof. Most of the major items have been replaced with the exception of the rod bearings which I would plan on doing immediately.

Simply put what is a fair offer for this car? I’m not the type to lowball which is my reason for asking. Any insight would be much appreciated.

    Cheers,

    -Rob

I’d guess it’s a $20-25k car. I figure my 2 owner 08 E90 with 103k is a $15-20k car (I have done rod bearings and lots of other work done).

I've been looking for an E90 M3 for quite a while - even considered rebuilding a wrecked one. What I realized is that these cars can get VERY expensive VERY quickly. There are a lot of items that well exceed the cost of rod bearings. Look up how much the brakes cost. You also have throttle actuators, suspension bits, valve cover gaskets, clutch, rear diff. Personally I'm buying an '09 E90 DCT with a bit over 100k miles. It's an immaculate example and had all required maintenance done/documented since new. Recent TAs, RBs, brakes, tires, driveshaft, diff service, and multiple other items. The price is a bit over $20k. I have looked at the multiple sub 20k examples and none had a history like this. A fully sorted $20k car is WAAAAY cheaper than a 15k car with questionable history.
