    Griptec Supercharger Pulley

Been doing some research and was wondering if anybody is running a Vortech Griptec pulley?
Here is a nice write up: http://www.mustangandfords.com/how-t...rger-belt-slip

I have bought one from https://www.lethalperformance.com/ca...ult/?q=griptec, (still in the mail). --Basically it has two patented processes "micro-grinding" and "micro-welding". Belt slip is always an issue; at $169 a little pricey, but if effective it will be worth it.

Close up pics of the grooves/teeth.

928 Motorsports has pulleys on eBay that have a patented non slip detail to them. Another option to check out.

You might look at these guys too. I had my pulley coated by them years ago and I have never looked back.

I ran the Vortech high traction pulleys 10 years ago while supercharged. Had an 8 rib 6.00 crank pulley. The smallest blower pulley I could run was 2.80 without slippage and I think even it was slipping. The OP may be at it near the limits of his 42 lb injectors with 6.00/2.90 and an S52 with Schrick cams.

--I believe you are correct pbonsalb, my V2 max spin is 52,000 RPM (hoping for 14-16# of boost).

Just don’t blow yours up like I did mine. You might be fine in 1st, 2nd and 3rd, but the added load of redlining in 4th or 5th could do you in. I was going 155 when mine let go.

I ran a 0.098 MLS in the next engine and a 60 lb tune with a walbro 255 and boost-a-pump. With the Schricks, rms headers, super sprint mid pipe, b&b rear, it did 463/368 SAE in a Dynojet at 16 psi from a 6.00/2.80 pulley set. I also had water meth injection. And went from a 3.23 to a 3.38 to a 3.64. The 3.64 dropped my top speed to something like 143 with the 255/40/17 rear tires and a 7000 rpm limiter.
