I have a 1997 BMW Z3 Roadster 1.9 not long after I bought it the exhaust camshaft broke . I decided to just get a new (used) head with cams already in place . I replaced head have done all the necessary installations by the book meaning step by step from a guide! I have it all back together and I'm getting no fuel or fire. My coil pack is basically new. I'm thinking crank position sensor but I don't want to buy unless it's the problem. It started the first time I tried it, it hasn't since
I'm more familiar with the LS pcm and it's operation, but when you have no fuel, no spark, that usually means the cam or crank position sensor data isn't getting to the pcm.
Can you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key? Have you tried starting it with starting fluid? Rule out the simple stuff. My first swap in an e30, I accidentally switched the return and supply lines for the fuel. Little stuff gets overlooked.
Yes everthing to using a jumper on the relay which activates the pump. Can't hear the fuel pump when key is switched on. I bought a bmw scanner installed the software, it will only recognize the dme and has one error
It's not swap over, after the the camshaft broke I started replacing parts I'm on it of town working slot when I come home I work on it. After replacing the head it cranked once for aboit 2 seconds and hasn't since
