hi guys,
picked up some 14" wheels 6" wide. came with very old tyres which i have removed as im refinishing the wheels. size was 195/60/14.
just wondering if i went 1 size up to a 205 would that sit ok no 6" (ive found its the max size recommended on that size rim). also what profile would i use? still a 60?
otherwise am i better just staying put with a 195? thank you
pic of the wheels. does anyone know what they are? on the face it says "performance" plus size listed. hub size seems to be 68.1 or so, so ill fit rings. going to get the lip polished and paint centres gold EDIT: the brand is "performance" and they are made here in Australia.

I'd use 195/60r14 which is a good size for the e21 and for a 6 inch wheels. If you want to use 205, you'd need to use 205/55/14 which is uncommon, 205/60 will be too tall and also heavier. And they might not even fit, depending on the wheel offset. From my personal experience, 205 on a 6 inch wheel is little too wide and end up negatively affect the handling, especially steering feel (vague). It depends on the tire, tire with stiffer sidewalls would work better, but still not ideal. 195 is a perfect size for 6 inch wide wheel.
