    750 Brake Upgrade

Hello - New to the forum. I own a 2001 740iL Sport and its time to do the brakes so was thinking of upgrading to 750 brakes. I understand from research there is a protection option which bumps the fronts up to 348mm. I am looking for a set of front caliper brackets or a full set of calipers off such a car - if anyone is parting one out....any help is appreciated.

You realised that when you said "protection option" its the bomb and bullet proof option for diplomats owners? If so there are very few individual the world, and they're not parting out anytime soon. With that said I do have a set of front calibers and brackets off a standard 750il sitting in my garage. Shipping it will be a hell of a cost.

Yes - I am aware of the protection option - I have seen a few of them over the years for sale. BMW still makes the rotor and left front caliper bracket(available from Germany) but has obsoleted the right front caliper bracket. How much are you wanting for your front calipers? I have a FedEx acct.

My apology, as so many people refer the security option as a protection option.

$150 for the calibers and brackets if you're interested.

Are the callers in decent working order or do they need to be rebuilt?

Double pain glass doesn't necessarily mean Protection Package. If you have the last 8 of the VIN I can verify if it came with protection package. What diameter are you rotors? Stock 750 are 334mm vs 750 Protection of 348mm diameter. This is why the caliper brackets are different.

I don’t think anyone who is a regular on this site has a 750 protection. Most upgrade to 750 brakes - non protection. I have a 750, so no need to upgrade. Why the urge?

Just time to do brakes and want to put the money towards upgrading. Protection rotors and LH bracket are still available from BMW. RH bracket is obsolete
