    E32 Transmission oil amount

I have 1990 e32 730i and last week I was cruising on the highway with my sport mode on and all of a sudden felt like my tire popped and lost power for a second and when I pulled over there was smoke coming from the end of my transmission/start of my exhaust and sounded like there was something depressurizing, now every time I floor it it seems to lose all acceleration; I can can still drive highway speed as I ease into it. I’m thinking something with the gears in the transmission?

Please add the month and year built to your profile, easier for us to help.
I assume you have a automatic transmission , that means a ZF 4HP22.
At the end of the transmission on top there is a breather valve. When ATF is level is too low or too high, the ATF starts foaming and then it can leak thru the breather valve.
Check the transmission fluid level, as it is a 4HP22, that is easy, as it has a dipstick. Procedure here https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...lication-Chart

make sure it is clean and can breathe, looks like this https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-2...uine-bmw-part/ Genuine BMW Ventilation Valve - 24111218007 4HP ZF

730 with M60B30 has a BMW 5HP18 = ZF A5S 310Z (at least the EURO version), with torque converter 7.8 liter, w/o TC 3.2 liter = if you just drain it thru the drain plug, all ATF remains in the TC and you need roughly 3.5 liters.
Differene fluids required depending if it has a black type plate on the transmission housing or green type plate on the transmission housing and green sealing cap on the oil filler opening.

Side note: probably not the best to be driving on the highway over 55mph in sports mode for extended periods (that's third gear, without overdrive) - just my 2 cents

Wait, I thought they didn't start with M60 cars until 1992?

you are right, that is confusing, maybe EliNico checks it again, in his profile he mentions 1990 730 M60.
In case it is a 730 with M30B30 engine built in 1990, that has a ZF 4HP22 and that has a total volume of 7.5 liters and when changing the oil about 3 liters come out and have to be refilled with new ATF DEXRON III
