Thinking about pulling the trigger on these to ditch my grey seats.
Anyone ever used them/installed them on an E39?
I've seen E30 guys use them and they look pretty damn good for the price.
Install doesn't seem very complicated/ but more time consuming than anything..
One problem is that they don't make the rear bench seat skins for our Tourings...
They said I can pull mine off and send it in to use as a template though for making some.
Got me on the fence about the whole thing.
I would just try to source some seats in a different color but shipping is ALWAYS astronomical on top of High prices people ask for seats in good condition, and I can never find anything local...
Thoughts?
They never had the rear M5 seats either until someone sent one in, and now they sell the rear M5 seat covers too.I posted a link to that place on another thread a while back. They supposedly do a great job. No sense getting the fronts done if the rears are shot.

Dang! 50% off right now! $350 for the front seats isn't bad at all! I might be ordering a set of sport seat covers.

YEAH Hell of a deal! My rears aren't shot just hate the grey interior. Waiting for a color swatch to arrive. May do something crazy like something similar to the Natural Brown in my E61. Or may just do black
Don’t see any indication of a sale, or was the pricing just higher lately? Thinking of getting new fronts with perforated insert to help with the swass factor of black on blackness.

Semantics perhaps, but it looks to me like it's seat upholstery, not seat covers. Seat covers have traditionally gone over the existing upholstery, not replaced it. Typically to replace beat up worn out seats although occasionally to preserve the originals. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this appears to be replacement upholstery.

I've never seen them priced any higher, although I just found the sight a week ago or so. $350 is a steal though. That's cheaper than custom fit neoprene wet-okole covers for my old Toyota Tacoma lol...
*@Mike WW yes it is replacement upholstery

No man, these are legit seat cover replacements. normally $700 for the front seats. And the rear seat bench, which right now looks like they've only done M5 seat covers, were originally $700 too. If you want rear seat covers, you would need to ship the rear seats in so they can make the patterns. I just want front sport seat covers in beige. Then re dye my 16 way comforts that I pulled out of a 740 and put them in my silver wagon What I want to know is, are the regular E39 comfort seat covers the same as the 16 way comforts with the articulating rear seat back half? If so, maybe I'd just be done and order new grey leathers for those.

I did LSeat covers in my E30 convertible about two years ago (have since sold the car) but was really pleased with what I got for the price. I've done Autoberry for my M3 and they are certainly higher quality, but at 3x the price.
If you are looking to spruce up an interior, I'd go the LSeat route. If you want something that meets or exceeds the original factory interior, look elsewhere.

Gone (Too many to mention)
Ordered... Black with black stitching.. E39 Test Rabbit over here.
Seat skins just arrived today, Just shy of a month. Also ordered Driver bottom seat foam from ECS waiting to arrive. Original owner woman kinda squashed the outer bottom bolster lol. I'll post pics when I finish them. Replacing the rear split bench with black one I was able to source for a steal of a deal on Ebay. I'm thinking it will be easier to get front seats out from the rear doors once I pull the rear bench out..
Question...
Can I swap lower seat portion foam from driver to pass side? I bought new BMW lower foam $100+ for driver side before I cover them in new leather and thought a swap could be possible, a larger woman (Original Owner) that I bought the car from, hurt the outer lower driver bolster pretty bad lol
Well, well, well.... I went a different route... Sourced some local E39 ///M5 Front seats for a great price and I refurbished them...before.jpgBefore...after.jpgAfter... I'm pretty good with cosmetic stuff after all these years/projects under my belt lol. Nappa Looks/feels Brand NEW... I don't want to even begin on Lseat customer service at this point. Maybe after I'm refunded.
What to do with my rough Driver side Grey Sport seat and pretty good shape Grey Pass seat???? Sell/ Throw in the garbage? I don't want them around more than a few days... Happy wife/Happy Life (For the most part, lol)
So, obviously no long term observations, but impressions of the Lseat product? Poor customer service seems to be a common refrain on many things like this, but if it seems to be a good product, it might still be worth it for a project to be named later.

Thanks Snotty B!
The stitching was very nice and appearance was great, But.. It smelled weird and felt thin, like leatherette! Not like genuine leather, by any means.(It may have been real, just crappy)
"You may return most new, unopened items within 14 days of delivery for a full refund"- Lseat.com
I requested a return, and they told me I will be charged 20% restocking fee and pay the original shipping cost and pay return shipping cost.
Couldn't get anyone on the phone..... The WORST!
SO, I'm eating a $100 loss + 20 return ship. I just wish it was clear on the website... Am I wrong for feeling this way? Maybe.. Oh well...

Rick, who’s dye did you use to refirb the seats?
I recently did the seats in my ‘33 hotrod, bought everything from https://autoleatherdye.com/
They came out great. The owner is a BMW guy, he gave me a discount on top of free shipping.

The "OG" of BMW dealers in STL...SEM dye Products(Wurth are equally as good but more expensive)/Any water soluble degreaser/70% Rubbing alcohol/ Lacquer thinner... The BS kit pictured is just a standard leather filler for major/minor wear spots...(Any will do) It's all in the prep much like all cosmetic/paint stuff..

I do remember seeing the SEM spray when I was looking for a dye. I didn’t need to do any filling, no cracks.
My seats (came from a Miata, I swapped the original that came with the ‘33) had some spots on the sides that the dye was starting to show some wear.
This is what came with my kit, it’s for leather or vinyl.

Look like a new seat.
Hey Rick, just to be clear, didn’t you receive the leathers from Lseat? I kinda remember you saying so, I’m being an a$$ not bothering to go back on the thread and checking, not that I’m lazy, well ok, I am, but since I think I’m going nuts, ok, I know I have, I thought I’d stick to my guns and swear you never posted pictures of how they look.... Did you? Hoping you did, and I just missed it. Getting old is both interesting and scary. But I’ve been wondering about the quality of the leather, and the craftmanship.

I did receive them lol, you're not going nuts... I originally was going to reskin my grey sports, but when I found the buyer of my Style 81's, he mentioned he had 2 03 Black M5 Sport fronts... Gave me a crazy deal on them, to compliment the deal I gave him on Wheels/tires.. At that point, I knew I was within the 14 day return window with Lseat... The stitching/craftsmanship was pretty decent, I was not impressed with the leather, very thin and felt like leatherette, and smelled like a musty ol' dirt slot.. I wish I would've taken some pics!!! I wasn't thinking... The biggest thing was that, Lseat.com has terrible communication, charged me $120 for the return, and I had to pay return shipping on top of that. If it said something about restock/shipping return fees on the website, I would have been fine. I may file a complaint with BBB and such, and change my name to Karen...
