I'm having trouble figureing out what's wrong with my mistress.
The air bag light is on the dash and the seat belt light all the time, but it's not giving me any codes on the obdII scanner. I'm buckled in and the lights stay on, I buckle the passenger seat belt in (with no one in it) and the lights stay on and the "passenger air bag off" light comes on on the roof.
Looking at the belt pretensioner it doesn't look like its been activated (it should be shrunk up if it was)
I even tried unplugging the passenger seat (the yellow pug below it accessed from the front) and no codes came up on the scanner.
Does anybody know what I need to fix?
You need a better scanner. OBDII scanners won't read airbag codes. Throw that thing in the trash and get a real scan tool if you want to diagnose and repair your vehicle yourself.

Ya try a different scanner there's faults in there, have a shop scan the car
OBD2 is for Engine Management/Emissions stuff, the Airbags do not show up there. You need a scan tool that can see inside of all of the various controllers that your car has.
You need a scanner of certain quality that can read BMW systems
