Rebuilding an AC compressor any pointers. DIY 2006 530Xi auto 3.0L n52

I had a quick search couldn’t find much in the way of current discussions on this series. Newbie DIY. Air conditioning compressor starting to make some extra whirring sounds but still functioning. So thinking of picking up one from a wrecker and rebuilding. Just looking for anyone who is familiar with these units and/or a link for service procedures. I would like to have a spare on the bench ready to go for when either the current one fails or when I happen to have some spare time to replace. Any thoughts appreciated. I’ve never rebuilt an AC pump so maybe this is over my head but worth the research given the current covid financial situation I may need make work projects. I'm fairly mechanically inclined with many DIY auto projects under my belt. Thanks for input.

I don't even know where you would get parts to rebuild one

Yeah, no one DIYs rebuilds on AC compressors. Just get a re-man one.
