Right park lights went out on my 82 320i auto so here is what i figured so far. Light switch measures good. Have power at 30 -12vdc , when switched 58L and 58R have power. Check for continuity between 58L and fuse 9 good, 58R and fuse 6 opened. Also jumper fuse 6 to battery and lights work. So wiring to right side lights is good the problem must be from 58R gy/gn wire to fuse 6. How difficult is it to flip the fuse box to fix the wiring, is it a Can Of Worms?
The wiring appears to be untouched and in great condition like the car.

I'm assuming you have already, but are you getting power at the socket? I had to go through and re-spring all of my light sockets as the copper spring leaves that touch the bulbs had lost their push.
Yes jumping fuse 6 lights up entire right side light bus, not getting power to fuse via 58R wire from the switch. Are the wires crimped at the bottom of the fuse sockets underneath the fuse box?
E21 Fusebox copy.jpg Found this picture looks like crimps I can see the wires from the switch in this picture gy/gn - 58R and gy/bk - 58 L must have come off or separated some how.
If in cold weather, Warm the harness runs (ie: hair dryer) on both sides of the fuse box before trying to flip the fuse box for inspection.
I'd imagine that you already have a wire diagram, based on the original post. For others interested, here's a copy of the '81-83 e21 320i wire diagram..

That sounds like good advice to soften up the wire wrap before flipping the FB. I guess disconnect battery, remove the engine connector on the right side of the box along with the 2 relays that look clipped onto the main box, unscrew and it should at least move 90 degrees to work on. Yes i have the manual it a must have, Thanks for re-posting.

Yeah great call on warming it up, thanks for that ep!
Also 82Kashmir is your diagnostic connector fallen inside the box because of a broken tab?
That's what happened to mine the last time I flipped to to mess with the guts little too incautiously.
To answer your earlier question, the wires inside the box have female spade connectors crimped on the ends, and plugged into male spades on the undersides of the fuses.
Ok this is starting to add up spade connectors likely have some corrosion. The diagnostic connector is on the engine as far as I know, the hole in the FB doesn't have anything under it it appears.
Got the fuse box up and flipped 90 degrees on it's side wasn't as bad as i thought. The wiring harnesses were in good shape lot of dust and debris to blow out. I tried pulling up on 58R gy/gn wire to fuse 6 and it felt loose, also it seemed that the entire white block was coming up with it ( is it a one piece connector ???) I pushed it back down and got continuity so I stopped their. I pushed down on all of the wires and zipped it up and its working now.
