    Help with Throttle Pedal Install

    Hey everyone,

Can't believe I'm getting stumped by this one, but I'm new to the e46 platform (coming from 15 years of e36s).

I purchased a new white plastic gas pedal mount for my 2001 330Ci. Bolted in no issue at all, prior one had a cracked tab.

I'm trying to slide the gas pedal back onto the mount, and for the life of me it just will not go. I've gotten the first click on the tab about halfway up, and I can still move it over to the 2nd tab (i.e. it's not jammed). However the base of the pedal is absolutely stuck. Attached is a picture of where I'm at. I've put my 220 lbs of weight behind it and the damn thing will not slide over all the way. Looking at the bottom of the pedal assembly, the channels that slide into the white mount only go about halfway across the pedal.

Is this how it's supposed to look when fully installed? What am I doing wrong?

I've searched and watched plenty of videos, but none seem to show re-installation, only removal.

    I appreciate any insight!

Remove the pedal assembly and the mount. Try to assemble them on a work bench so you can see what’s going on.

So I took a closer look at the pedal bracket and pedal. It appears the ledges at the base of the white pedal mount are about 11mm longer than the grooves in the gas pedal are cut, preveting the pedal from sliding over all the way.

I ordered the white mount from FCP euro for my 2001 330Ci, but are there multiple versions of these? Anyone else run into this? I can't imagine I'm the first.

Go to www.realoem.com and enter the last 7 characters of your car’s vehicle identification number. Hit enter and bookmark the page. What are the first 2 number of the part you bought from FCPEuro? Those numbers will tell you in which subsection you can find the correct part for your car.
