2003 3.0i Z4 with a Business CD, 10 speaker model, with separate head unit and amp, works when first starting car but will only stay on for 1-2 seconds after turning off and back on when car is hot. Sent amp to electronic shop twice and the could not figure out what the problems is.
Do you have similar experiences with the radio?
Very expensive to replace stock radio and amp with low modern quality. Any suggestions of what to do must replace all 10 speakers, wrong impedance to be compatible with modern speakers.

The amp will cut out when over heated.
I have the Carver 10 speaker system and had that happen to me when I was fooling around with trying to upgrade radio/amp... with OEM replacements. The radio and amp were mismatched and I had the amp overheating and cutting out....
Installed a proper radio/amp match and problem solved.
So.... input your Vin into realoem.com and check the part number of your radio/amp to see if there is a mismatch with respect to suggested radio and amp part numbers.
If no mismatch then the amp might be failing... as a potential cause.

My B Cd radio went south, i just bought a used one off ebay, it works fine. mediocre system, but i'm not up to replacing system right now.
