'99 Z3 with the little onboard computer that also has a clock function. The owner's manual says to hold down the clock button for 3 seconds until the semi-colon starts to flash, then set hours and minutes. I can't get the clock to start flashing. I'm guessing it's broke but hoping that I'm just doing something wrong.
Thanks.
You are correct, that is how you do it if your car has the onboard computer (no H and M buttons, but instead you have the S/R and clock button). With the key turned hold the clock button until the colon starts flashing. Then press the clock button to increment hours, followed by the S/R button, then the clock button again to increment minutes, followed by the S/R button again and you're finished. Another way to get into the "input time" mode is whenever your car battery is disconnected and reconnected since it doesn't have memory. However, I'm not sure if you want to try that method if your clock button doesn't work since you need to use that button to input the hours and minutes.

Thanks Carpy2. I guess the clock setting button doesn't work then. The rest of the information, fuel consumption, average speed etc. works fine. What if I were to disconnect the battery just before noon and then connect it up again right at noon? That might work. I've got nothing to loose since the clock is now running almost 2 hours slow.
