    Electrical problem

Something strange has happened, after installing my headlights with halos a couple months ago, the car has been constantly blowing hot air at the floor, and the HVAC panel does not work or light up at all. I didn’t think this was a problem before last Saturday, when it was raining hard and all my windows fogged making me unable to see and ultimately getting in a wreck. $700 later and we should be back up and running just now two different colors.

Ive checked all fuses, everything seems to be in order there.

A few interesting things to note, there are 4 connectors on the back of the HVAC panel, when the car is on, and the power & blue and white connectors are plugged in, it blows hot air down at full power, when the black connector is reconnected it goes back to being slow.

It’s not consistent, it doesn’t start every time I turn on my car, I’d say 3/4 of the time it does it.

I didn’t tap into much of anything for my halos, but just in case I will show what I did do and give a brief explanation.

In the E-Box, I used the positive feed to a relay, and pulled power from a red with white stripe wire on the very left side.

So, this issue came up just after you did the wiring?

Undo the wiring you did, and determine if your wiring is at fault.

This was the first thing I did, pulled out the wire from the + feed and the one that’s ticked next to white red/white wire and this didn’t change anything. Swapped out the HVAC panel with one I had spare as well and it still did not work.

I **think** it came up after this, seems like the same timing but I cannot remember exactly when it started, but it seems like it was after the headlights.

    Strange update

Partially connected HVAC panel, and it lights up; but no control still. Probably not pertinent but just in case.

I’ll take a look and see if anything comes of it, thanks for providing this! If not helpful now, surely it will be in the future.

    Electrical problem

So some new things, I was in the car with my fiancée a week or two ago and she mentioned how the car does not really blow while at idle speed but instead it gets faster as the car gets faster.

I have also pulled two fuses, fuses 76 and and 11 I believe they were and absolutely nothing has changed..

Anyone got any clues? I’m beginning to think this isn’t just electrical.

Can you control blower speed with the +/- button?

Nope, the controls are completely unresponsive. Won’t even light up.

dead HVAC controler unit. New $500, but before you go and buy one, lift the passenger seat and check the electrical connectors under the carpet...

Connectors under passenger seat are okay.

I have tried two different units, both of which I know have worked in the car previously and just tested another and it did not work either.
