    Tire width with Apex ARC-8 18x9.0 ET30

    Hello,

A representative at Apex suggested a 235 by 40 by 18 tire for my 2012 (E92) 328i Coupe but a representative from TireRack stated they could not confirm fitment with this tire size for my vehicle. Does anyone here run this setup? BTW, this will be a square setup.

235 will be slightly stretched on a 9" but it'll work. just means you wont have much sidewall protection so need to be careful of curbs. ideally you'd run 235 on a 8.5" but assuming you went with 9's for the convexity. if you're willing to run some camber up front, you could go with 255/35-18 which is a better fit. more grip, more sidewall protection and maintains the factory rolling diameter of 25" (whereas 235/40 is 0.3" taller). but w/o camber, you may encounter some rubbing.

    Hi there,

While we do recommend the 235/40-18 as a direct fitment, this will be slightly stretched. Alternatively, you can run the 245/40-18 and 255/35-18.

The 245/40-18 is a touch tall (+2.4% or 0.6"), but will provide solid sidewall support on a 9" wheel.

The 255/35-18 is the best option, at 0.1" short (-0.4% difference over stock). This is a bit aggressive up front and might require a 5mm spacer to aid in clearance to aftermarket suspensions that rob inner clearance.

I hope this provided a bit more clarity!
