I'm helping my buddy with his 02' 745i. His radiator took a dump so we went to the pick a part and got a newish one off an 03' 745i.
Problem is that the old radiator (left) has an extra smaller pipe that the newish (right) one does not. What's up with that? Did the previous owner of the junk car put the wrong radiator in? Or did BMW engineer that third smaller hole away?
Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the assistance!
Is there a reason someone would put an e38 radiator in an e65?
Can the e38 radiator be modified to work in the e65 cooling system?
Very bizarre, but not the weirdest thing I've experienced getting parts at the junkyard.
Thanks again.

It's usually not worth buying a radiator from the junk yard.... their prices are not much less than a new one purchased online and you get much more peace of mind with the latter. Good idea to change the hoses too.
I don't see how the plastic one would work... I don't see a connection for the transmission cooler.
I agree. I've seen far too many e32s with rust colored liquid splattered throughout to engine bay to feel comfortable getting a radiator for any of my vehicles at the junker. But the man wants to do it this way so here we are.
Yeah and if those are for cooler lines, he's pretty much s.o.l. with that one.
