Hi, I'm new at this...
I have a 1971 1602 European BMW, it's in pretty good shape, I need to know if the brake discs and drums are the same as the 2002.
Do you know of a good provider?
Thank you very much
The rear drums on 1602 are 200mm diameter. The rears on a 2002 are more likely to be 230mm, though a few came with the 200mm.
The two cars use the same front discs, calipers might be the same too (looks like same 2 caliper part#s could be fitted to both).
You can look up (and buy still available) parts at Maximillian, but most 02 brake parts are also still available through dealers and other online BMW parts stores. On Maximillian, to view all parts, select ‘archive’ for classic 02s, then specify either your VIN or a make/year/model to view complete parts diagrams. You can compare Euro 1602 to US 2002 etc there...

The brakes on the front axle of the 1600-2 or 1602 from mid-69 to 76 are the same as those on the 2002 from mid 69-76. All 1600s have the smaller 200mm rear drums, though. The 1600ti may have been the first to use the larger 230mm rear drums, like the 2002, but I'm not entirely sure.
