5 years late, but I finally pulled the trigger on a PS3. Back in the day, when I had the original playstation, gran turismo was among my favorite games. Now when I look up GT, there are so many versions! XL, Collectors, Regular, I don't know what the differences are. Also, when I look up used games, it says "online content not redeemable." I'm not sure if online content is necessary, but if they are mentioning it in the descriptions, i'm sure it is.
1) OTers can help me out with the questions above?
2) What are your MUST HAVE games?
I enjoyed need for speed hot pursuit
I really like Uncharted: Drakes Fortune.
The used game market is getting nabbed by the game developers. What they do, is that there is a code to access online content when you buy the game new. It's a 1-time use code.
If you want to play multiplayer, or anything else you need to buy a new code (usually like $15).
2015 ProSolo STX Class Champion
MWF 2
about the only game I have to have and even now I don't play it much anymore...played BF3 at a friends the other week and I enjoyed it, I'll consider picking it up soon...I have the black ops games so I'll wait until MWF3 comes out before buying another call of duty game

Twisted Metal
Heavy Rain
XBox 360
Go with GT5 XL, it has all the latest updates and add-on download content up to a point (because stuff still comes out every now and then). I think the download content not being redeemable is that you have to buy the add-on stuff on your account like normal. Not that you would know if the PO of the game bought any add on content before hand. My game list is limited:
GT5
Call of duty Modern Warfare 3 (not a black ops fan but it's good too)
Grand theft auto 4 (5 comes out this spring)
I must note; because of the online modes, story lines and single player have become worthless to me (with the exception of grand theft auto and gran turismo, never played 1 minute of call of duty single player). Every other game I've had failed to keep my interest, especially if the online portion sucks, and I have limited myself to the above franchises.
Assassin's Creed.
One of my friends is debating on getting a PS3 slim with a bundle for COD MW3.
I pre-ordered GTA 5, can't waittttttt!!!
Arkham Asylum
Arkham City
Red Dead Redemption
Heavy rain
Little big planet
Gt5
Infamous
I'll second as absolute must haves for hours upon hours of entertainment:
Ratchet and Clank
Red Dead Redemption
I refuse to play GT5 because you cannot save setups by car and by track. It was in GT4 so why'd they remove it? Also the non-HD cars.... so many of them that look atrocious in game.
GT5
Formula 1 Championship 2012
All of the Uncharted games
All of the Assassin's Creed games
God of War
GTA4...soon 5
MWF1 and 2
just cause 2
If you're looking at the cars, then you're not driving I haven't played for a while, I usually just shuffle race cuz I'm tight like that, but I think you can save up to 3 tunes per car now.Originally Posted by RidgeBack

It's not that you can't see them but the lack of detail. So t oanswer you're question: Easy, avoid the pixelated block with wheels lol. I used to played GT5 in different leagues and the graphics were the least of our worrys, the physics are what make the game what it is despite a lot of things that were not included. So +1 for a quality game. But if OP wants fast and the furious customizations and street racing, need for speed would be better suited.Originally Posted by RidgeBack
Ummm ok... whatever I said to offend you, sorry. Just stating from my experience. A lot of people buy GT 5 and come to find they can't customize the cars how they want. A lot of people suggest adding free roam and/or drag racing to the game. Just stating from what I've seen on the video game forums that a lot of people complain about. And, I do agree to a point 800 of 1000 cars lack "premium" detail which is why I said avoided the pixelated blocks. So where ever you were offended, I hope I clarified where I came off dickish...
Ive been playing the new Call of Duty Black Ops for the past few days with my buddy and have really enjoyed it, so i might buy it in the next few days.
The 3 games i actually play on my personal PS3 are Battlefield 3, Madden 13, and FIFA 13. NBA 2k13 is actually a great game as well.
