Dear god guys leave the man alone. I agree I probably wouldn't have paid 10k but its still a nice car and *probably can be fixed. Who cares about the gauge cluster, its a black face cluster with grey overlays and chrome rings, ive done it on my e53 and my e39.
Op, nice car, drive it, enjoy it. Ive got 280k miles on mine and the SLS/EDC just failed on it, I removed and installed a set of BC coilovers and couldnt be happier..
Good looking car!! I had a 2001 740 sport, aside from some mechanical issues it was my favorite.
i think in time, those of us holding onto these 750il's will see the market value move up stead. As time passes, with the absolute trash that BMW is making, there will come a demand for these land barges ........ pure speculation on my part but I think that it will happen. So I'm sitting on My 750il and continuing to dump money into it to restore the old girl back to my vision for her. But I also bought her becasuse I wanted to have a 750il, not for speculation or to flip.
Funny how there's a few of us with E38 and E46 M3's...... well, I'm don't have an M3 but I have a close sister in a Z4M roadster with the S54 motor in it. The Z4M is pretty rare and that car for me was more of a flip-one-day purchase.

How many 750il sports are there? It's a 2001 only package, and they sold what, 700 750ils in the US that year? So we're taking a few hundred of what's maybe the ultimate e38, and indeed 7 series (imo) made? Finding one with under 100k miles is going to be no small task...
