Cool My "New" Oil Pump is in bound :)

I bought this oil pump from a ebay seller in England for ~ $162.79- 132.67 pounds sterling including shipping, customs, ect, Its here in the States Now and cleared customs. BGA manufactures these oil pumps and is the best deal on these hands down that I could find. New BMW E21 Oil Pumps run ~ $500. This seller has one more at this price drop me a pm if you want to buy it, in the States its around $220. For 2002's you'd change the pickup and transfer the intermediate plate. New 2002 Oil Pumps are around $700.00. Saving Money........ The wear items is the pressure relief tube, ect--which few have re- sleeved. New spring and piston ect does not compensate for tube wear and pressure loss in relief pressure, ect.

Its a BGA LP 0418 which matches the oil pump for E21's

Here is the facts on this Oil Pump from our BMW 2002 Brethren. I have read nothing but good things on these oil pumps.

    BGA LP0418----- BMW 11411267383, BMW 11411286493

"Anyway, from a performance standpoint it works perfectly. Pressure is super smooth and stabilized once the relief opens, holding approx 65psi at anything over 2krpm. Hot idle with 20w-50 is right around 30psi. Cold starts run up to about 80-90. I also know my bearings are on the looser side of spec for what it's worth. I bought mine off of eBay. "

"FWIW update. 40 psi at 850 rpm fully warmed. "

I'll post a picture of it when I receive it.

The key question of course is: Where is it made or rebuilt? Is it a chinese product?

    Cool

What I know is its made in one of there 10 factories made to there engineering specifications and from the results above they are excellent, BG Automotive is not a fly by night company been in business over 85 years, they are not remanufactured they are new. I would not use Chinese products in business applications by the way or personal applications where there is a choice with a codicil outlined below.

AS too Made in Germany Oil Pumps for E21's, US EPA and DOT got involved in the early 80's as the oil light was coming on at 850 rpm's and off at 1000 Rpm's, they found that inner design was not good enough-produce enough psi to shut off the light at 850 rpms, what happened was and is right now that oil sending unit was lowered in psi to shut the oil light off . So someone thinking that because a product is made in Europe or nearby is better top of the line ect is in error, the only way is too test the product and get the results like what was done above.

What the US EPA and DOT did in the time they were engaging the contractors making these oil pumps for BMW was they made them use the parts that were sufficient to keep the psi at US industry standards for these oil pumps or they were outlawed to be imported, now they are on too other things. This crack down on cheap oil pumps was done with German auto authorities- a few of us know this,,lol. Its not difficult anything imported into the US has to have a manufacturing code on it of who made it and where it was made, so the EPA and Dot and German Authorities knew where and who was making these oil pumps to industry standards, this number or similar is stamped or stenciled on each part. Auto authorities dont check each part they get involved by compliant and fix the problem at that time , they are not pro active checking everything all the time, they are suppose too, well one knows how that goes , test your parts.

it's not about quality, dot, or cost.....

from this moment forward i will not support the evil chinese communist party!

this is the party that lied to the world about a disease they created, collapsed the world's economy, welded their own people into apartments where if they didn't die of the virus they starved to death.

they harvest organs from unwilling donors, steal trade secrets, manipulate their currency so they can cheat in the world market and don't give one shit about the chinese people, or any people of the world.

the chinese people and the world at large deserves better and the CCP must be taken down! support the people by starving the CCP!

The Price went up $11 on my purchase , State Side around $220.00 I see several more were recently bought from the State Side Vendor on E Bay since my post. I could order 3 for the price of 1 BMW Oil Pump and still save a double saw buck. I'll probably order another BGA LP0418 as I'm figuring two engine rebuilds...

If your snagging this oil pump for your ride or want to upgrade the o-rings No. 19 to Viton there is two of them..Viton will keep the seals and oil pressure in better shape on the seal that gets the oil return from the block and on the seal that connects the oil pump relief valve, they seal the oil return tube or pipe, No 18 to the block and the oil pump

I measured the one I have and came up with 3 mm cs x 12 mm ID--18 mm OD this is confirmed on real oem , BMW number11411250421 12 x 3.

I just bought a 5 pack of Viton 70 on ebay for $6.73, Brown in color, 999 of these 5 packs left. These stock o-rings come in two flavors Rubber and Silicone, I have both and soon the upgrade to Viton.
