    Coolant on plastic pan

    Hi,
Finally got my 87 vert on the road and inspected. After returning home about 25 mi round trip I opened the hood and found a small amount of coolant on the plastic pan under the motor. Looking for thoughts on where it could be coming from. You can see the line of coolant under the AC compressor. There is also what appears to be coolant under/around the screw on the top hose connection.

Use a coolant pressure tester when the coolant is cold then locate the leak.

Pressure test is a good idea. I don’t have one but will see if I can rent one. Bleeder screw. Didn’t realize that was a bleeder.

Ya. its an 8mm, if I remember right. if you have a screw driver with one of those tips you can flip around, its usually the right size to fit it

Local autozone has a tool loan program. I’ll pick up the kit and see what I find. First is to check that bleeder.

Had a chance to take a closer look at the green stuff that I thought was coolant. It is likely oil from the AC compressor. It’s a newer compressor. Is it toast or will the seals seal again after it gets used a while?

How full is the coolant expansion tank? Could the overflow of the coolant expansion tank spit out a little?

Defiantly from ac. Drove the car yesterday with air on and off. The amount of lube from the compressor was almost not visible. I am hoping that using the air allowed the front seal to function again.
