Seat and Steering Wheel Adjustment Not Working Along with CD Changer

Hi Everyone,

Having an issue with my 1998 740il. The seat adjustment along with the steering wheel adjustment and the CD changer stopped working out of the blue. Everything else electronic-wise is working well except for those three things. I checked the fuses and all are good. Anyone have an idea what this might be caused by? Is it a relay issue and if so how do I go about fixing that?

Not sure, but the electronic ignition switch has been known to cause many weird electrical problems.
There is a simple test that can show if you've got a bad iggy switch, but even if it passes this test, it doesn't mean the switch isn't bad. Of course, if it is bad, it will fail this test - put your key in position 2, pull down the passenger side sun visor & slide the mirror cover open. If that cause any weird electrical issues (like the steering wheel going up or down), chances are you iggy switch is bad.

In most cases the plug going to the drivers seat adjustment has come loose remove panel cover to verify
