do i need to remove caliper piston?

    I'd appreciate your input...

first photo is my front caliper... you can see half of the boot was coming off when i took the brake pads off.
    Should i :
    1. try to push it in with a smooth flat head or popsicle stick ?? (the other caliper had a small area i was able to push in but this is WORSE)
    or
    2. take the caliper out and reassemble? ( really dont want to do this but might have to?)

here is a photo from the links below, they took the piston out which you can then slide the lip of the caliper boot in easier

You should rebuild the caliper with a new seal and boot. Watch YouTube vids there are plenty of guides.

Click the search button, select "search single content type", select the "e36 sub forum" specifically, try the "search titles" then try the "search entire posts".

The kits are cheap. You can try to push it back in, but it won't stay.

Just get a rebuild kit and rebuild them all.
