So excited to get back into the BMW world! A quick post to start conversations only - I know how to search the forum, but will take any advice that you veterans can share.
This is my second 540iT (had to sell the last one as we were relocated and I got a company car), and I wanted to get back into this and keep it for a long time. And this one is pretty rough around the edges cosmetically, especially on the inside. Was a Charlotte NC shop truck, so the interior is pretty trashed in the back. But mechanically it seems pretty solid (176k - timing guides are on the list, I promise). And the sunroof has a significant leak (where I am focusing right now). Have the headliner out and all pillars pulled back (will recover them as I get it back installed). Luckily, the guy who sold it to me had a ton of parts included with it (including the entire sunroof assembly, clean driver seat, ABS module, etc.). Plus, a lot of the hardware for a 6sp conversion.
It might be more than I can handle, but taking it one piece at a time. I will ask - I've been searching for beige interior trim parts for the back - they seem to be pretty hard to find.
Wish me luck! I'll take any advice you would like to offer!

Those rear trim pieces are indeed hard to find. There are at least 4 BMW breakers in the ATL area.

That's super helpful - I will be searching for them. Its only 2-3 hours down the road, certainly worth a drive.
