    Power trains

Is the power train the same in a 2014 320 and 328 other than the difference in the engine power?
    Thanks

Non forged pistons in the 320i and difference in software in the engine control module.

It can be converted to 328i software, I've done a few, but it's not simple at all. It has some heavy protection against it.

To be 100 % diff, transmission and 4 wheel drive system are all the same?

Hardware, maybe yes. Software is different between the two in transmission and transfer case.

We need more exact info on each car... the differentials may have different gear ratios.

    Thanks,

I am not too concerned with the software or gear ratios.
My worry is mainly the diff. My 323 is a Canadian only model and it uses a smaller weaker diff than a 328 of the same year which make it likely to fail at a lower mileage.
I don't want to be in the same position if I get a 320.

    Try https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select
parts system. It will give you which models the differential and things were used on. For USA models, the 320i and 328i used the same exact differentials.

The rear differential is the last thing you need to worry about with a modern day BMW. The diff is probably the least likely thing that will ever break in an F30.
