I did search and read up on the issues but I don't want to throw parts at this and it's a slightly unique situation. Would really appreciate to get some input from you guys. Here is description of the issues.
Passenger side window is the issue. It does roll up and down from drivers control. However, passenger controls will not roll window up and down. When you open the door the window doesnt drop, both when using the outside handle and when inside the car using inside handle. I was thinking I would replace microswitches but given it doesnt work in both scenarios, I'm wondering if it just needs a new switch panel or door module?
Thank you for your help!!
Do you have the driver control switch in the on position to give passenger up down control? Could be the switch or a fuse imo. I would check fuses first for proper seating also, Removing the door panel is easy.
Make sure you have a supply of the Christmas Trees that hold panel one. Buy the OEM BMW the cheap ones shatter
Wait, the driver door control doesnt have a lock to keep passenger window from rolling.

Section 5133 (ZKE, TMBT)

Section 5133 (pp. 341+)
Fuses 42, 33, 34, 31, 29 43 (left-to-right order in the schematic) should all be fine since you're able to operate the passenger window from the driver's door switch.
IMO, Occam's Razor suggests that a single fault is causing this. Since both the passenger window drop and passenger switch do not work from passenger door handle or passenger door controls (and the window doesn't drop when the door is actually opened), I would suspect a failed passenger door module P/N 61356957041 or wiring associated with Connector X889 on the A24 module (TMBT, passenger door module) located in the lower front of the passenger door, between the door card and vapor barrier.
You should be able to query the GM2 and TMBT with INPA, if you have that.
If not, you can at least do the electrical tests at connector pins to see if there are microswitch faults, without taking the passenger door completely apart.
What is the last 7 of your VIN for better accuracy in the electrical and parts manuals?

Wow thanks Dave. I’ll double check fuses today. I can take door apart and check micro switches since those are likely just continuity. Not sure how to check faults on the rest of it. I did notice the door module is really expensive. I’ll have to look for a used unit. CB72763 is the last 7.
You're welcome, Brett. www.realoem.com shows your car as a '91 850Ci, US spec, 11/90 build.
Use this electrical diagram (they're all pretty close):

The passenger door module is definitely 61356957041.
The electrical troubleshooting guide will direct you to the failed part, although I'm sure it's figureoutable by checking the input components too. Might check with Wuffer about a used one. Good luck. Please post what you find.
FWIW, *IF* the problem IS the passenger door module, it can't hurt to open it and see if the power supply capacitors are original (AFAIK, this goes for any E31 body module). If they haven't already been replaced and nothing else looks smoked, replacing them may bring a failed module back to life, assuming that kind of thing is in your wheelhouse. There are other things in a module that can go wrong, but that's a common and known issue.

It does sound like the passenger door module - but it is worth disconnecting the passenger door window switch and see if the door handles now drop the window. The DRIVERS window switches control the passenger window via data transfer to the General Module - whereas the PASSENGER window switch connects directly to the passenger door module - as do the microswitches for the door handles.

Thank you, video was helpful. Door panel removed and tried disconnecting the window switch connector and window does not drop. All wiring looks ok inside door. All fuses good. Think I’ll order an eBay door module.

Good luck, Brett. Please post how it goes.
The eBay door module fixed it! Did the window reset and it drops like it should and switch works. Thanks guys!
Brilliant! Fix stored for the future!
You couldn't chop it open and show what's inside?

I took apart the module and there is no damage evident. Circuit board and coating all look like new. I took pics of you would like to see them.
I certainly would!

Let’s see if I can attach these two pics or if they need to be hosted on a photo site.
Well, there's a couple of electrolytic capacitors in there - might be worth ago!

At this point it’s fixed with a $50 eBay module. Don’t plan on messing with it. Thanks for your help.
